We are all shaped by the people and the connections around us, for better or worse. Yet so often we try to heal all on our own. Maybe you were taught to shove your feelings down and not burden others. Maybe you just are waiting for a miracle to change your circumstances. I don’t believe that I’m a miracle worker; rather my role is to partner alongside you and guide you toward healing. I know that everyone has varying levels of comfort with therapy. Because of this, I strive to meet my clients where they are. I want you to feel seen and understood. My main priority is to develop a strong therapeutic relationship, so you feel comfortable to take risks toward healing.
“Have regular hours for work and play; make each day both useful and pleasant and prove that you understand the worth of time by employing it well. Then youth will be delightful, old age will bring few regrets, and life will become a beautiful success.” -Louisa May Alcott, Little Women
I graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2024 with a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. In my time at OSU, I saw families, couples, and individuals with a variety of presenting problems. I love working with individuals, but I found my passion working with adolescents and families. My style of therapy is very focused on the therapeutic relationship. I believe in order for the interventions to be successful, it has to be the right fit for the client and therapist.
Beyond therapy, I have extensive experience in early childhood settings. My time teaching has allowed me to see a variety of behaviors firsthand. It has also largely influenced my therapy style, as I love to be playful and creative when appropriate. Sometimes therapy is laying on a couch and crying and sometimes it’s putting on a puppet show about emotions; both are beautiful! I am a certified facilitator for SYMBIS, a premarital counseling curriculum. I also have training in Four Blinks, which helps reprocess traumatic memories. I look forward to joining with you and helping you be your best self!
